WampServer

hi All

have my wamp setup and works fine, when i look at say ocart on my pc using localhost/ocart i see the site and it renders correctly, when i try to access it from my laptop all i get is the text, no website layout and no pictures, all the links give an error "cannot display page" if i look at a html page that is on wamp from my laptop it is fine and the links work, it just seems to be any php site, can you help me please
running Win 7 on both machines

You probably set it up using "localhost" as a url.

this wont work when across a network.

you will need to change that to the network IP of the pc using wamp or else use vhosts to setup a fake url

and add it to both hosts files which is the best way of testing locally

access from pc is the address localhost/ocart, access from laptop is 192.168.2.2/ocart, but it still does not render properly, if i use localhost/ocart on laptop i get nothing

This is what i was assuming..

if you try on your laptop > 192.168.2.2/ocart

and check the source of the page , i am sure you will find the things that dont load, are trying to use the path

localhost/ocart


You will have to reinstall/modify a config file for ocart and either use 192.168.2.2 when setting it up and then use this on both pcs or else use a fake url.


if you wanna get teamviewer i will help you set this up as i know it can seem a bit confusing at first.

you are spot on sir, thanks for that, easy when know how LOL, i will be able to sort the script thanks for your offer.
[192.168.2.2] is that the correct address in config or should it be
[192.168.2.2] or
192.168.2.2/L/wamp/www/ocart or have i got it wrong completly

what ever it was .. just replace localhost to 192.168.2.2 and leave the rest as it was

im not sure what path they use as i dont use those cms
