WampServer

I am trying to install wiki software from mediawiki to my local wamp server.

I get an error Could not connect to MySQL: Access denied for user 'wiki'@'localhost' (using password: YES) when using a testmysql.php.

I did not want to use root so I created a new user wiki with password wiki and set all the authorities to Y in the phpmyadmin page.


Wampserver 2.5
mysql 5.6.17
Apache/2.4.9 (Win64)
PHP/5.5.12
PHP extension: mysqli

The wamp icon is Green and the phpmyadmin is working.
I loaded the 64 bit version since I am now on windows 8.1 with a quad core Acer system.


I have not used this server before with mysql, I moved from a different system.

I have done some more with this and found the pssword was not encrypted. I recreated the user and restarted wamp services and it now connects.
