I have the same problem, I first tried installing WAMP a few days ago and it worked fine on my computer. I could not get to it from outside my local network, but that is most likely the fault of my ISP, not the program. I restarted my computer one day, and all of a sudden I could no longer view localhost. I uninstalled WAMP and tried reinstalling it, and got the message that Apache was still installed. I tried using a different version of WAMP and finally got it reinstalled, but still could not reach localhost. I uninstalled again and reinstalled with the newest version right from the download page. I still cannot reach localhost. It seems even with Apache running, I get the message "Localhost could not be reached".

Either :

- you have a firexall installed blocking port 80

- you've got anothyer program (like Skype) already using port 80

Have you tried [127.0.0.1] instead of http"//localhost

Create one batch file with following lines and execute the same.

msdtc -uninstall
msdtc -install
net start msdtc

cd\
c:
cd winnt
cd system32
cd inetsrv

rundll32 wamreg.dll, CreateIISPackage

iexplore

I tired 127.0.0.1 before, no results. It wouldn't be my ports since I am trying to access it on my own computer. I ran the batch file but found out there is nothing in my inetsrv folder, so it runs nothing past changing directory to there.

Yes, I have one, but is in the Win Xp Pro.

Before it worked fine, but I now no.

Is so strange, in the firewall I put in the exeptions a WAMP, but

Wamp is in the icon try bar, rigth down in the screen, hi says its working good, says 2 proces runing, but, when I go to [localhost], they keep in loading.

Again, sorry for the bad english, thanks.

Assuming of-course Wamp is fully running (both services running), get off the net by diconnecting the cord for security, then disable windows firewall and try localhost. If it works, then reenable the firewall, download ZoneAlarm (far better than the windows one), and install it and then disable the windows firewall so only zone alarm is on.

I have encountered quite a few problems because of the windows firewall, mostly networking and the server.
