phpmyadmin error-message "phpMyAdmin - Fehler"

Hi,
when I start phpmyadmin I always get the error "phpMyAdmin - Fehler Sie sollten auf MySQL 5.0.15 oder neuer umsteigen.". I want to use the version 4.1.22
Where is the error. The php-modules are on (mysql,mysqli) but phpmyadmin does not work. In my hosts-file I have some lines with 127.0.0.1 XXX but I have too 127.0.0.1 localhost. I tried only the one line 127.0.0.1 But I get the same error.
Where is the error? I hope you can help me.
