I installed wamp 2.5 on windows 8.1 when I started the program I received the following message: "could not execute menu item( internal error)[exception]Could not perform service action: the service has not started

The Visual C ++ redistributable packages (VC9, VC10, VC11) are absolutely required for Wampserver 2.4 and 2.5, even if you use only Apache and PHP versions VC11.

Package VC9
microsoft visual c++ 2008 sp1 redistributable package (x86) (32 bits)

microsoft visual c++ 2008 sp1 redistributable package (x64) (64bits)
[www.microsoft.com]

Package vc10
Package redistribuable Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 (x86)
[www.microsoft.com]

Package vc11 (Visual Studio 2012)
Use VSU_4\vcredist_x64.exe for 64 bit and VSU_4\vcredist_x86.exe for 32 bit

If you have a 64-bit Windows, it is imperative to install both 32 and 64bit
Even if you think you are up to date, run all the installation and answer "repair" if indicated already installed.

Thank you for replying to my message. I reinstalled the redistribuation packacge and the wamp server. but still the colour is orange and I receive the above message

Hi,

- Installed in an administrator session?
- Installed as an Administrator?

See errors in the Event Viewer.
