I changed operating systems 2 years and haven't used Wamp until now.

Know very little about Wamp.

Win 7 Ultimate x64

Installed flawlessly.

Enabled" Include conf/extra/httpd-vhosts.conf" in httpd

Added 2 sites to hosts file and httpd - wamp still green

Run PHP test file in www folder - ok

Type localhost in browser. - forbidden screen

Wamp Localhost - forbidden screen

Run PHP admin - forbidden screen

Run PHP test file in a site root - blank screen

Run webgrind - forbidden screen

Thanks to all who help.

Have a look at this post [forum.wampserver.com]

I think your problem may be Point 1, a IPV6 entry in HOST file causing problems.

On windows 8 I have to use 127.0.0.1

and 1:: localhost isn't even defined in the host file.

I did a lot of searching but never found the link you sent. It didn't seem to match exactly but was a great help.

Run PHP test file in www folder - forbidden screen

[localhost]- forbidden screen

browser local host - no

Wamp Localhost - forbidden screen

Run PHP admin - works

Run PHP test file in www folder - ok

Run PHP test file in a site root - ok

Run webgrind - ok

Today I followed the instructions in the link provided and still have a problem with "localhost"

I also found this very good link for installing software individually. [www.1stwebdesigner.com]
