Wampserver problems as many others.have had

I see from many posts on this forum that lots of people are getting the same problem inasmuch as their wampsever is not connecting correctly.
I also see that the answer always seems to lead towards changing from port 80 to port 8080, normally with a small indication as to how to do it , but sadly not without explaing how you reach the path to do these changes.

Taken from an earlier post:

"edit the my.ini in mysql folder

change 3306 to 3307, written 3 times in the file, save and restart wamp.

you will also need to add the port to the config.inc.php in the phpmaydmin folder"

That seems easy enough to follow, except that i can't find the mysqlfolder, and i can't find the phpmyadmin folder. Which then makes it very difficulft to make these changes.
The simple way out of this problem i would have thought, would have been to have done a version with thse changes in it if it is so easy and they work.
Failing that could someone not do a how to with all steps detailed.

It does seem from all the posts that Steven does 99% of the moderating on this forum.

No, about 50% smiling smiley

I don't suggest you do any of these changes until you know why it won't work.

The only reason to start changing ports is if u know why the port is being used and u have to leave the system this way.

Btw - any file I mention is always on the wamp menu

Just left click the wamp icon beside your clock >MySQL > my.ini

But for now don't do this , instead tell me the colour of the wamp icon
