Please how can you prevent users from having direct access to the MySQL databases on a local desk top computer via phpMyAdmin? Once you click the wampserver icon on the task bar and click phpMyAdmin, the user gains access to the database. Also when you type localhost/phpMyAdmin in the brower address bar,it also gives user access to the database immediately. I would like to control access to the database especially by asking the user to log in first in a manner similar to internet-based phpMyAdmin.

If you want a login screen like this
[guides.jlbn.net]
Then follow the Setup Password guide

You should setup Backup right after setup Wamp successful, so you can go back if something wrong later
