Newibe Issue.

Good morning,
I just installed WAMPserver 2.2 on a Win XP SP3 machine. After starting all services and putting the server on line I get the following error message when attempting to access localhost from the Aestan Tray Menu:
"Could not execute menu item (internal error) [Exception] could not execute run action:"
I receive the same error when attempting to access PHPMyAdmin from the tray also.
Also, I cannot seem to execute any PHP files. I am trying to go through a few tutorials to learn PHP and am trying to execute the following:

<head></head>
<body>
Agent: So who do you think you are, anyhow?
<br />
<?php
// print output
echo 'Neo: I am Neo, but my people call me The One.';
?>
good bye.
</body>
</html>
The html outside of the php tags displays just fine, but the php code dosen't display anything.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
