WAMP Accessing the internet behind a corp firewall?

Hi All,
Ive been using WAMP for a while now as a demo tool on my local computer.
Ive recently developed a PHP API application that makes calls from my local server to an API server out in the real world.

The problem has been that whenever I am inside my companys corp network the apache server doesnt seem to use the proxy details and so the tool is rendered useless.

I can login to the local host no prob - so I know that the WAMP server is working, but I cant make the WAMP server talk to the API server as the connection does not go through the office proxy.

Is their a way to configure Apache / WAMP to make http requests via a proxy? Ive tried googling this, but I get lots of results on how to make apache a proxy server, not connect through one.

Thanks and kind regards,
Mathew

Can you give me some hints on where I need to focus please?

Thanks
