WampServer

I'm currently running Windows Server 2003 and it wont open. I install it, open it, but it just closes. It doesn't show any icon in the task bar or anything. As a result I installed XAMPP and it worked perfectly, besides the Apache (error with port 80). Now, I'm confused. I uninstall XAMPP, install Apache, and install XAMPP. Now what really gets me here is Apache works great! I got to localhost and it says "It Works!". I thought my trouble was over there, but I put some php coding on the home page and it doesn't read it as PHP, but I have XAMPP installed.

I have tried installing everything manually, but it doesn't work. There are way to many downloads and the guilds are way to old. I would either like WAMP to work or get an up-to-date guild on how to do this manually. Please make sure you read all of this, cause I would really like some help. Thank you!
