cannot find ssl module

Running WAMP 2.1
Needing to enable the SSL component.
When I select the ssl module from the wamp GUI the server hangs.
All the event logs says is this: The Apache service named reported the following error:
>>> httpd.exe: Syntax error on line 128 of E:/wamp/bin/apache/Apache2.2.17/conf/httpd.conf: Cannot load E:/wamp/bin/apache/Apache2.2.17/modules/mod_ssl.so into server: The specified module could not be found.
The module is there, I can see it. Also other modules do load ie. Mod_Rewrite. anyone see this before?
