WampServer

I've just installed WampServer2 for the first time on my Windows 7 Home Premium machine.

It seems to be running correctly: I can access localhost and PHPMyAdmin.

I intend to use it to set up a test Wordpress installation so I created a new database using PHPMyAdmin.

I then copied the current version of Wordpress into the web directory - it now appears under "Your projects" on the localhost page.

I pointed the Wordpress config file to the database using database name plus what I believe are the correct settings for the database username and password.

However when I go to localhost/wordpress I get the message "Error establishing database connection".

Can anyone see where I've gone wrong here? Is there any way to check I'm using the correct settings for the database username and password?

Have found out what the problem is - seems the password was not what I thought it would be!
