FTP uses TCP port 21 and you need to forward that port on your firewall/router to the internal IP address of your server.

Are you using a client application like FileZilla to connect to your FTP server? You need to create a user in the FTP server, set up a password and also the home folder for that user. Then you can set up that user in an FTP client like FileZilla client and connect to your server. Alternatively, you can use a browser and connect using the URL: [example.com] where example.com is your domain or IP address of the server.

The FileZilla server is all you need on the web server. On your remote workstation you need an FTP client like the FileZilla client. Use the default settings on the server and once you get it working, you can fine tune it, for example by setting a subdomain that the server is listening to, as a security measure.

You need to create a user and set the user's default home folder.

Start the FTP server and select Edit - Users - Add and so on. Please read the documentation at [wiki.filezilla-project.org]

ferro, are you clear? if not, here more details

when talking about ftp, you actually need 2 ftp's: ftp server and ftp client

on your server, ie, wamp pc, you need to install ftp server, in which you create ftp users and define everything related to those users such as password, document root, privileges... when setup ftp server, you need to port forward for ftp server in your router, and default port for ftp is 21, then in ftp server, you have to define server(s) and run those server(s) to create users... and to accept access...

on other pc, you need to have ftp client, and the simplest form of ftp client is browser, to connect to ftp server on your server, ie wamp pc; if using borwser you can put in url 'ftp://your_domain_or_ip' or you can even put in user and password in url 'ftp://username:password@your_domain_or_ip'
