Hi all, need to do some server work on my local PC (Win 7 64bt)

When I try to put it online I get this error "Could not execute menu item . . . . . "
I have narrowed the problem down to the apache service (wamppapache) not starting.

In the system events I have the following report

<Event xmlns="[schemas.microsoft.com];
- <System>
<Provider Name="Service Control Manager" Guid="{555908d1-a6d7-4695-8e1e-26931d2012f4}" EventSourceName="Service Control Manager" />

</System>

<Data Name="param2">%%1</Data>
</EventData>
</Event>

Anyone here can help please, I may have disabled something but I couldn't find a minimum specifications for wamp so I figured install and see, well I did. It will not go online! sad smiley

hmmmm, bump

I once came across a website that was running some sort of competition, all you had to do was enter a search term into Gluegle and if it came up with only one listing then you could enter it in the website competition.

I think of this when I post up a problem and no one answers, either the forum is dead or I have a unique problem.

As computers are literal to the point of being anal, I can only think the forum is dead!

I've since found a search term that comes out with one listing but I cannot find the website now sad smiley

anyone?

Make sure no other program conflict Wamp such as IIS, Microsoft Web Deploy, SQL, Skype, Zonealarm, firewall/antivirus, NOD32, Eset, any web related program including Remote Desktop, Teamviewer ...

IIS and Apache/Wamp are both web server and might conflict in some way, so you have to disable IIS in order for Wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista/W7:

Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp

Also, in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc, open file hosts and delete anything in this file and have only this line below and nothing else

127.0.0.1 localhost

If using Skype, open Skype > Tools > Options > Advanced > Connection then uncheck "use port 80..." restart Wamp then Skype

@madhur31
Did you append the port on your server name.

like [yourserver.com].

Since this is error 404, which means You have a working Apache but it cannot find the file you are asking for. Check the page you are asking really exists inside the www folder.
