can't seem to solve the puzzle...

I've been at this for a week now. After going around in circles with Wamp 2.6, installing older versions of PHP, Apache, MySQL, and trying to install and make it work with PHP 5.4, I finally removed WAMP 2.6 and installed WAMP 2.4 which has PHP version 5.4.16.

WAMP is green, and localhost works fine, but when I go to PHPMyadmin I get exclamation marks by each of the databases (information_schema, MySQL, performance_schema, test) and under the databases tab below create database, I have the message (in red) No Priveleges.

I have followed the advice to edit the config.inc.php file but the problem persists.

I have windows 8.1

You have to login with a valid MySQL account and password.

The default is
