I have not yet installed WampServer, but I presume it works flawlessly and that I will be able to install my preferred CMS (Concrete5).
This is what I would like to accomplish: - 1 local development environment in Wamp - 1 local staging area in Wamp - an externally hosted production environment
The idea is that the development environment is a playground, anything goes there. The staging area should be as close as possible to the production environment. New development gets deployed here first and then pushed to the production environment.
A classical approach, so maybe some tools exists already to: - push development to the staging area - push development to the remote server - sync in the other direction (remote to staging) since data is live and uploads happen on the production environment - (ideally) integrate development with a source control system (svn)
I am sure many setups like this exists. How close to this is yours ? How did you do it ? Best practices ? Thanks for any input!
