Not ony my guides, but most guides out there basically show the user(s) the concept to achieve certain thing(s), so the screenshot(s) in my guides will be different due to different wamp versions but the concept should be the same

1. Through browser, setup password for root in phpmyadmin
2. Through file config.inc.php in phpmyadmin folder, setup login windows

And based on your error message, you must missed a step or 2, so if you've already setup Backup before setup Password, use that backup to restore back, then follow Password guide again. If not setup Backup, reset Mysql, then setup Backup then setup Password

Download ResetMySQL here

You should setup Backup right after setup Wamp successful, so you can go back if something wrong later

Well, no need to backup as I have not been able to start.
I have only waste my time, several days.

I only want to know now how to set this pw as database is not protected now with only standard pw.

The guide told me how to config the file but it is to use in login dont work.

There is no login in this version.

The file does not contain the lines you describe. Those files should be above and below the lines I have.

My file only contain the files between those you describe.

Maybe I can add these missing lines?

Somebody must use this same version (latest WAMP) and therefore have the same problem.

Mayby nobody cares for using this shit? Or they dont care about the pw.

I have no time tp play this computer game or fooling around. I have work to do.

Its a very simple question - how to set the pw?

simple

open phpmyadmin

click privledges

click the hand at the user you want to add a password to

add the password

NOW YOUR PASSWORD IS SET FOR MYSQL

to allow phpmyadmin to conenct with MYSQL you must goto that file you mentioned in phpmyadmin and add your password to the line that has

$cfg['password']

you can add other lines to the file so that you get a login page when open phpmyadmin otherwise it logs in straight away. but MYSQL is still protected..

you should probably find out the difference between MYSQL and PHPMyAdmin then you may understand

A lot of problems with login to mysql.
The page dont refresh in Firefox.
I can login sometimes by just use refresh, without username and pw.

With username and pw maybe I need to refresh several times before I can login.
Sometimes I need to reboot to fix login.

But now as I know - its not a big problem.

Alway be careful to logout every time AND ONLY ONE user. and a lot of refresh.

This is not a funny game.

But I think I need to dl these separate and not the Wampserver package.
