WampServer

I am a long-time .NET developer running IIS on a local WIndows 7 environment. I recently started to delve into Joomla and I needed to setup a web enviroment ontop of which to run Joomla. I installed WampServer, used your links to upgrade to the latest versions of everything and then tried launching the server.

I do not see any errors but the server itslef just says that it is offline. I am pretty sure that I need to change a listener somewhere as IIS does not play nice with anything else. Can you please tell me what I need to change?

actually you should change the Listen 80 to another (Listen 8080) port in httpd.conf file in apache server.

Thank you for your response - I found the httpd.conf file and changed the listen port but that did not do the trick. It takes a few more seconds now but it still goes offline. The last step talks about changing the web site config - what file would that be?
