All services & localhost issues

Hello,

I just installed WAMP and trying to access my localhost.

I am trying to start all services but the icon still remains 3/4 yellow - I have tried changing skype settings, my IIS is unchecked, Windows firewall is off and I tried turning off my antivirus (kaspersky) off but still no luck.

When I try to open localhost its not even empty, its just:
"Unable to connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost."

All help is welcome.

Regards,
diobad

Seems like Apahe is not running (stop service not clickable). Even if I click "Start/resume service" nothing changes.

ok click start > run> cmd

in the black box type in

netstat -aon | findstr 0.0:80

if you get a result.. take the number at the end of the line

open taskmanager... click view>select columns> check PID and press ok

on the proccesses and services tab look for that number in the PID column.

If the number is 4 its most likely IIS or RDC

Tried netstat -aon | findstr 0.0:80
and no number came up

then tried netstat -aon alone and got 3324? Couldn't find it in Processes but in Services it stood by 4 services

try netstat again

netstat -aon|findstr :80

or if you run netstat only... you are looking for :80 at the end of a LOCAL ADDRESS value..

Seems you have IIS running so make sure no other program conflict Wamp such as IIS, Skype, Zonealarm, firewall/antivirus, NOD32, Eset, any web related program including Remote Desktop...

IIS and Apache/Wamp are both web server and might conflict in some way, so you have to disable IIS in order for Wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista/W7:

Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp

Also, in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc, open file hosts and delete anything in this file and have only this line below and nothing else

127.0.0.1 localhost

If using Skype, open Skype > Tools > Options > Advanced > Connection then uncheck "use port 80..." restart Wamp then Skype

again I did disable it in Uninstall Programs
I did change Skype Options
I did delete everything in host and just have "127.0.0.1 localhost" in it.

Still stuck on 3/4 yellow.

Try accessing [127.0.0.1] instead of localhost. It could be that localhost isn't resolving.
