WIN 7 frustrations; WAMP menu icon runs but does nothing

WampServer 2.0i on a Win7 box; WAMP menu icon runs but does nothing. Task manager processes shows it there, and services show ampapache and wampmysql. I'ved edited the hosts file and turned off the firewall, and re-booted many times. No Good.
Would love to get it working, but if not, can I do an uninistall , delete the PHP and apache files I see under c:\wamp and then manually install all myself , or are there other issues to consider now that WAMP has tried to install and run ?

Never mind ; it works.
I missed the "show hidden icons" on the bottom right of the task bar; this brings up a (very small) graphic of a gage ; right mousing on this brings up the menu.
