New to WAMP

I am "forced" to do some work in the MySQL environment. I have always worked in Windows XP . I separately downloaded and installed MySQL, PHP & Apache on my machine. Can I just download WAMP and will it automatically find and coordinate these three programs or do I have to remove these 3 and start all over again with WAMP. I tried for several days to start the MySQL 5.5.6 with no luck then I deleted it and installed 5.1, it started just fine iwth the Workbench. The reason that I have to use MySQL is that I'm collaborating with a astronomy project that is University bases and therefore anti MS & Windows. PLeas offer any advise.

Thanks,

JB

you will need to remove those three.

then jsut install wamp.

search your pc for php.ini and my.ini and my.conf

make sure these are not found , except for in the c:/wamp folder

then run wampserver .. the icon should be white... and left click the icon for the menu

Steve, Thank you very much, I did as you said and everything is now in place. Now I just have to figure out how to use All of this. I'm sure that between the books that I have and this Forum, I'll be fine.
