WampServer

For 3 days I have been trying to get wamp 2 up and running on my computer.
I have absolutely no technical knowledge, although have managed to unclick Skype for port 80 and change to port 90 on the Apache http config file and the apache config on c drive.
Have allowed this on my firewall. Did the XP thing with IIS. So am at a loss as just want to get wordpress up and running so can build a website, very frustrating.

Yes I did try this and still got the HTTP 404 not found message.

What colour Is the wamp icon?

It is white but when i click restart all services it goes about a 1/4 red then white again, and says put offline on the bottom so I gather I am connected to something.

i cant access localhost.
when i opened the localhost on mozilla only blank screen appears..
how to solve the problem?
is there anything to edit before using wamp 2?

in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc, open file hosts and delete anything in this file and have only this line below and nothing else

127.0.0.1 localhost

If using skype, open skype > tools>options>advanced>connection uncheck "use port 80..." restart wamp then skype

i corrected it .but still i cant acess localhost, only a blank screen appears.
The wamp icon colour is yellow and there is no error logs.
Help me in fixing this prob..

finally localhost page is loaded.. but there is no www directory in that local host page..

C:/wamp/www on ur pc

Folders in the www folder show up on localhost , so put the files into them

from your logs, your wamp is working so you should immediately setup backup before doing anything further even just to find out why you have blank screen

thanks for getting back to me. I cannot complete the password or database task because I canot access local host/phpadmin , at all. Should the icon be white?

Is there another way to do this through C:/wamp
