WampServer

I got a fairly old version of wamp 1.6.5 running a lot of test server on it with all ma dbs etc... I want to know if its possible to update my version without over writing my sql db and all my files?

Or just update mysql php and phpmyadmin apache as well I guess... without loosing everything.. tried once and it was not really successfull everything got over writed in my db -_____-

That version I'd very old. That was wamp5 and project was later changed to wampserver2.0

U would need to Uninstall wamp5 before upgrading.

To do this you need to

1. Copy your www folder c:/wamp/www to another folder

2. Open phpmyadmin and export your db's in SQL format and keep those SQL files safe.

3. Uninstall wamp5 and delete the entire c:/wamp folder

4 download wampserver 2.0i or (wampserver 2j in top post in forum)

5. Replace the www with your old one.

6. Import ur SQL files keeping in mind that mysql 4 DBS have to be updated to run on mysql 5

I installed your unofficial version of wamp Steve and now I get

Forbidden

You don't have permission to access /phpmyadmin/ on this server.

from Lan External computer and from the local server [localhost] is aint showing nothing

any idea ?

Btw I tried that fix it didnt worked for me. my host machine is on Win7 x86 and my working machine on win7 x64

Delete the last line in hosts

:::localhost

Clear ur browser history
And try again

Left click White wamp icon> phpmyadmin
