WampServer

Hi there,

I have downloaded WampServer, made sure to bloc the ports as mentioned and yet it is impossible for me to run the set up. Nothing happens when I click on the icon in the library it created. What can be the reason for this? I am about to lose hope so please please help

by the way, the icon is next to the clock and nothings happens there either

left click on wamp tray icon for Main menu, right click for Secondary menu and double click for Credit

OK, I have finally made the icon next to the clock active. However, wampserver does still not start up. Any suggestions?

hmm, seem to have no connection to the localhost via the browser. trying to find a solution.... arg!

Hmm, I am about to give up, I don't think it is Wampserver who is giving me the problems but my lack of knowledge as I am new to PHP, datebase and Apache. I am fambling in blind and don't want to waste your time. I thought I could have a go on CMS systems after years building sites in Dreamwever but I just can't get my head around this. Must find some one who can explain me the basics. thanks anyway :-)

I`ve installed wamp on my computer, but when i go to phpadmin panel, there are such errors /i think/ at the bottom. Please give me an advice.

Your configuration file contains settings (root with no password) that correspond to the default MySQL privileged account. Your MySQL server is running with this default, is open to intrusion, and you really should fix this security hole by setting a password for user '.root'.

And your site is very good. But when I set this root pasword, i couldn`t log in to the msql. Very funny. So i reinstalled wamp and joomla again.

By the way, this password is used for security reasons, i think. Can I set it after completing my web site?

I have installed wampserver 2.0i sucessfuly but when I am running a php script through netbeans ide, I am shown a dialog showing the file name with option 'open' , 'save' and 'cancel' and php script is not running. Can you pls. provide th solution.

make sure to use full tag <?php ... ?> or enable short_open_tag through wamp tray icon
