Hello all,

I had configured wapm for CGI-perl and it was working fine, but somthing happened to it and when I restared the server a month ago it said "AESTAN TRAY MENU: Could not execute menu item (internal error) [exception] could not perfrom server action: The service has not been started."

And since than I am wondering is there a problem with sql or apache? I mean it was working fine but suddenly it started giving me this error.

Any inputs on how to resolve this?
Thanks in advance.
Arun

Hi,

The CGI-PERL was already working on wamp and it was working but then one day it suddenly gave me this problem... Could there be a problem with the .conf file (i suspect there is!)

Regards,
Arun

make sure no other program conflict wamp such as iis, skype, zonealarm, firewall/antivirus, nod32, eset, any web related program ...

IIS and Apache/Wamp are both web server and might conflict in some way, so you have to disable IIS in order for Wamp to work

Disable IIS in Vista:
Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:
Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp

Also, open file hosts in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc then delete everything in there and have only this line and nothing else
127.0.0.1 localhost

if using skype, open skype > tools > options > connections > advanced > untick "use port 80 ..." then restart wamp then skype

download wamp here

I had this error and found that closing skype solved the problem.

Thanks, George
