WampServer

I've installed WAMP. It's yellow in the system tray. I click localhost, and it comes up with Authentication Required. I've tried my user id and password and it doesnt work. I've tried everything I can think of. I tried htpasswd in the bin of Apache and I tried to create and set a password, but still no luck. I saw in one of the command lines that port 80 is in use by IIS. I'm not sure if that's related. So far, I've installed this, but I can't do anything with it because I can't get past this Authentication Required.

HELP!

uninstall IIS.

control panel> add remove programs> Turn on or off Features (on the left)


then untick IIS (internet information services) and press apply

sound you have htaccess file in www folder, so you need to remove it or set password accordingly
