unable to change php versions

I downloaded the php version 5.2.11 addon but can't seem to get it to run. I select it in the php version list but when I do a phpinfo() it still reads version 5.3.
I've restarted the server several times.

Any ideas?

Hi

Probably no help at all but... when I changed versions I stopped all services changed the version then restarted all services and the new older version I had downloaded was running.
