WampServer

I set the root password to mysql using account edit option in phpmyadmin. It worked, however, when trying to log into phpmyadmin, I get #1045 - Access denied for user '*******'@'localhost' (using password: NO) / How can I fix that?

I think you're misunderstanding, because this information doesn't resolve the issue. The issue isn't I can't connect to MySQL, the issue is I can't connect to it via phpmyadmin.

I saw people posted here this same error like millions times and the mistake you made most likely like others that you did NOT setup password properly, so you need to reset and setup password again PROPERLY and if you were in my position, I don't think you like to keep retype over and over like millions times the same long answer for each and every users w/ same error; thus, the guides are there but you dont have to follow them if you dont want to
