WampServer

So im very new to all of this i want to work on a joomla site for my work.
i started by installing apache got to the point ware local host says "it works"
found out about wamp and thought it looked like a better way to go about working on the site so i got wamp went to local host and got "it works" so i went back an uninstalled apache and i still get "it works"

here is what my drivers\etc folder says
hosts
lmhosts.sam
networks
protocol
services

any help would be great thanks

that and before asking anything provide :

windows version youre running on ( ie... XP, win 7, win 8, ect...)

Or are you saying wamp is working fine and now you want to know what to do ?, because that's a really easy answer.... there's this thing called "www.google.com"... you enter it into your browser exactly as described without the quotes.... when it pops up you type in the box the following :

"starting a website with joomla" ( without the quotes )

then you hit enter and read.... and read...and read....

When you uninstall the original install of apache, make sure you delete the folder as well, probably C:\apache2

Then look for a httpd.conf file anywhere on your C: drive other than one in the \wamp\bin\apache\apache2.4.9\conf folder

If you find one and you probably will somewhere in the C:\windows folder structure somewhere then delete it.


DONT DELETE the one in the \wamp folder structure
