Bringing over DB files from old system to new system

I just installed WAMP on my local computer, a windows 7 64bit build.
Can I just bring over the data folder (C:\wamp\bin\mysql\mysql5.1.33\data) from my old computer to the new computer? Or do I have to do the export / import through phpMyAdmin?

you can IF and ONLY IF you already setup db tyoe as shown in this backup guide
