can view http://localhost but not http://127.0.0.1

i have an alias site setup
inside is index.php
if i go to [localhost]
it shows the index.php fine
if i go to [127.0.0.1] or [mydomain.com]
i get 404 error
i also get it when adding the index.php at the end of the url.
any idea what i should look at? my alias looks like this:
Alias /mail/ "d:/mail/horde/"
<Directory "d:/mail/horde/">
Options Indexes FollowSymLinks MultiViews
AllowOverride all
Order allow,deny
Allow from all
</Directory>

you should set up vh instead
to setup vh, follow this
