Hi, i need some help here please... See, I have to desktop computers, one running on windows xp and second running on windows 7... since the windows 7 is x64, i cant configure wamp on it and decided to install it and configure it on mz xp machine...

This 2 computers are connected, have file sharing and connection sharing enabled...

So, when i put my wamp server online, how can i access it through my ip address from some other location besides my home, since Windows 7 machine is a host of inernet connection (means that XP machine, from which wamp is running, is connected to internet through Win7 computer)

Please dont say PortForward etc. because i use Wirelless 802.11a connection and i dont have a router...

Just to tell you that i was able to access wamp server from anywhere on the world wen it was installed on a host computer that is connected directlz to internet...

So, in short, when user enters my ip address, is there any option that i can do, which will make my win7 machine to transfer the user to xp machine, from where the wamp server is running. Thanks smiling smiley))

1. wamp runs on win 64

2.. you cant do what you want to do. you could try setting up a newtwork connection in windows using the option -" My pc connects to the interent through another computers connection"

but i doubt this will work/. like i said , install wamp on other pc. it works

I'm going to give you the correct answer to this problem.

The reason why this isn't working is because Windows 7 has public and private folders, not including a particular file on the partition installation that disables localhost from being enabled.

1. Go to c:/Windows/system32/drivers/etc/hosts and open with notepad.
2. Change the bottom of the document from:

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
# 127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

to:

# localhost name resolution is handled within DNS itself.
127.0.0.1 localhost
# ::1 localhost

Just uncomment out that checker.

3. Install winamp into C:/Users/Public/Wamp
4. Congrats I just fixed all your problems.
