Hi all. I am new to this forum so hello to all and thank you in advance for any feedback to this post.

Right, I have had a major issue now for a week with getting MySql up and running . Details :

Windows 7 OS
WAMPServer 2.0i

WAMP installs fine, I bring the server online, but the monitor does not turn fully white, it is yellow up to 3/4. So I had a look and it turns out the MySql service is not started. So I opened up the Services console , find the wampmysqld service and it is not started, so manually attemp to start it. I then get the following error :

Windows could not start the wampmysqld service on Local Computer
Error 1067 : The process terminated unexpectedly.

Looking at mysql.log, it shows the following :

091215 14:24:56 [Note]
091215 14:34:05 [Note] Plugin 'FEDERATED' is disabled.
091215 14:34:05 [Note] Plugin 'InnoDB' is disabled.
091215 14:34:05 [ERROR] wampmysqld: unknown option '--skip-bdb'
091215 14:34:05 [ERROR] Aborting

I have Googled this to the point of having numb fingers, have also reinstalled WAMP several times. I also dont run Skype, and port 80 is being used by Apache/2.2.11(win32) PHP/5.3.0, opening my localhost, it shows my Wamp Server configuration, but cannot open PHPMyadmin either.

Well, I hope I have given enough info for someone to be able to assist in this.

Thank you

Right, just to add, I have also just tried the following. Uninstalled Wamp and then removed all registry entries for wampapache and wampmysql. Restarted pc and reinstalled Wamp, but the same problem still persist.

Hi there

Thanks for the reply. I just had a look at the my.ini file and the only entry I could find for federated was :

# Disable Federated by default
skip-Federated

So I just replaced federated with INNODB, but service still wont start and I get the same error.....

Also, just to add, the only entries in the file I could fiind for INNODB are as follows :

# Uncomment the following if you are using InnoDB tables
#innodb_data_home_dir = C:\mysql\data/
#innodb_data_file_path = ibdata1:10M:autoextend
#innodb_log_group_home_dir = C:\mysql\data/
#innodb_log_arch_dir = C:\mysql\data/
# You can set .._buffer_pool_size up to 50 - 80 %
# of RAM but beware of setting memory usage too high
#innodb_buffer_pool_size = 16M
#innodb_additional_mem_pool_size = 2M
# Set .._log_file_size to 25 % of buffer pool size
#innodb_log_file_size = 5M
#innodb_log_buffer_size = 8M
#innodb_flush_log_at_trx_commit = 1
#innodb_lock_wait_timeout = 50

I have tried the suggested and uncommented the the required entries, but still same result.

Hi there Steven

Right, I did a search and did find another my.ini file.

I had a software installed called Namo which is used for webdesign ( I use it at work for our Intranet ) One of it's exension, the Webboard has Mysql,Php, Apache installed with it. So I have completely removed it.

I then uninstalled WAMP again. I then cleaned the registry of any mysql and wamp entries. Then restarted the pc and reinstalled WAMP.

Result - Exactly the same issue exist :-(

I also looked for the entry you suggested in the my.ini file, but no such line exist.

Looking in services under Task Manager it shows that wampmysqld is stopped.

Under System Configuration it shows this as well, but the manufacturer is shown as unknown

Under System services, mysqld has no description and no dependencies

This is really starting to do my head in now....

Hi All. Really sorry for the late reply but had some bad stuff happen. Anyway, problem solved and I know that this will not be what most people want to hear looking for this fix, but here goes:

My pc died a horrible death and I was left with no choise but to reinstall WAMP . I installed Windows 7 first, then Trend Antivrus, then WAMP. I then meade sure that I had WAMP server and all services running while installing all my other apps and it works fine again now.

Thanks again for all the effort to help.
