Configure root for mod_rewrite

Hi all,

New to WAMP as ive been using easyphp up until now, but this WAMP seems to be a lot better.

The question I have relates to the use of mod_rewrite. When I put my website in the root folder "www" then the mod_rewrite (.htaccess) works fine, so for example we have:

/www/index.php

but when I create a project folder for example /www/mywebsite/index.php the mod_rewrite does not behave correctly.

As I was typing this I had a thought if I needed to alter the Rewritebase \ in the .htaccess file....

Any input would be great and thanks in advance.
