IE reports unsupported browser, but works fine with IE through localhost

I set up a bitnami installation of the WAMP stack and installed an installation of Joomla 3.3 on it.
I can access the site perfectly from networked computers using chrome, but IE (tested on versions 9-11) reports an unsupported browser, unless it is viewed on the host computer through the localhost address in IE. In that case it works fine.

I have also replicated the site to a commercial web host and have no trouble accessing it from any browser.

I am stumped. Any help would be appreciated

Host computer Windows 7, Joomla 3.3 installation.

Can I suggest the you complain to the BITNAMI people not the WAMPServer people.

figured it out.
IE has a checkbox to display intranet sites in compatibility mode. Unchecked it and it works perfectly.
