Hello,

Windows 7 Home Premium
64-bit operating system
Wampserver 2.5
Apache 2.4.9
MySQL 5.6.17
PHP 5.5.12

Color of WampManager icon is orange.

6 duplicate lines of - 127.0.0.1 localhost - in my hosts file

Localhost working fine and goes to Wampserver page.
Not sure what Virtual Hosts is, sorry.

I am really new to this and downloaded Wampserver because it was an all-in-one and was recommended as a nice package to learn on.

Let me start by stating I downloaded the 32bit version and it was running perfect. Only problem I had was it kept getting stuck on the "loading" or "whatever" popup that happens when you try to add a password. So I thought I might need the 64 bit version because my system is a 64bit. So I un-installed the 32 bit version and installed the 64bit version.

I got the "MSVCR110.dll is missing" error after I did that. So Wampserver was not working at all. I followed a lot of instructions to reinstall all of those Window Update suggestions, and then my computer said it had an update today (Security update for Microsoft Visual C++ Service Pack 1 Redis Pack and now Wampserver is running everything but MySQL

I am getting the:
Welcome to phpMyAdmin
Error
MySQL said:
#2002 - No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it.

The server is not responding (or the local server's socket is not correctly configured).

I know this has been asked before and I have searched and searched and have tried a lot of the solutions but I don't want to really screw things up if there is a solution I have missed.

I did a complete backup of my Wamp directory before messing with anything on a external drive.

My System Event Viewer is saying:
Fatal error: Can't open and lock privilege tables: Can't find file: 'user' (errno: 2 - No such file or directory) for MySQL. (WHO is ERRNO??)

My MySQL log is saying (sorry for the long text)

Did I screw something up by uninstalling the 32bit and going to the 64bit?
Should I un-install the 64bit and go back to 32bit?

Like I said, I would try more things but I am beyond my knowledge as it is.

Thank you in advance.
John

Stick with the 32 bit.

Uninstall the 64bit and make sure you then DELETE the \wamp folder and all its subfolders before installing the 32 bit.

Guess you were right,

Uninstalled, deleted wamp folder, reinstalled Wamp32 and bam green light right off the bat. No problem at all.

Thanks
