Manually added releases of Apache, PHP or MySQL?

I need to add older releases to WampServer 2.0i, and i found this FAQ topic:

"1. Can I manually add a release of Apache, PHP or MySQL?
Yes and here's how. Download your favorite relerase on its official site, and put it in the bin directory of WampServer.
For Apache and MySQL, just add a wampserver.conf file inside the release's directory.
See the files delivered wih WampServer tocreate your own wampserver.conf file.
For PHP, also add a php.ini file (used in CLI if necessary) and a phpForApache.ini file (used by Apache) and that's it.
"

But it's not working for me, what am i missing???
the releases appears to be installed correct in C:\wamp\bin, but they don't show up in the tray menu, and i don't understand the FAQ with regard to the wampserver.conf files, they are already there when i install the releases, then i tried to copy the wampserver.conf from the default one, into the release directory, but that didn't change anything :-(

i hope that someone can help me figure this thing out!!

Apache 1.3.37, MySQL 4.1.21 and PHP 4.4.4, they are all in bin,
but none of them are visible in the tray menu.
