Hi,
I recently completed a primliminary version of a website that I have on a PC in my home where wampserver is installed. I will not be at this location over the next while, so I wanted to be able to upload new scripts etc to the server to improve the website.

I was hoping someone could give me some advice as to what free software package is most commenly used. I downloaded winscp, would this work? Is it like a GUII (drop and drag or commands?)? I just need to know if I'm on the right track and the I can spend time studying it.

Also please advise me on any changes or settings from the deafults that should be done on the actual server itself if any. I will be going away tomorrow and I won't have the opertunity to make changes later. I was hoping to have a fairly clear picture of what software I need, and have the server so that it can be connected to from another country. Then I can study about how its actually done at a later date.

Many thanks for the help.

You can use filezilla server on your web server (at home) and filezilla client (or another ftp client) to connect to your ftp server.
=> Allow access in the router
=> Create a user which have access to your web root folder

Website : [filezilla-project.org]
FAQ : [wiki.filezilla-project.org]

It's free as many other ftp server programs.
