im looking to use wamp server on a dedicated pc with windows xp to host my website. is there any reason that this may be a problem or do other people do the same thing?

There is no problem to use wamp to host websites, but you should have an enough upload speed.
You should use a domain name to map your public ip address and update it if your public ip changes...

does it allow you to use domain names? i read an older thread in here than wamp wasnt set up to use DNS.

im sure my internet providor can fix the ip address.
