Hi all,

I installed wamp server 2.0, a week ago. The first day i was fooling around with mysql, I created a database and created some tables in it. I somehow could open a gui of mysql, which I am not able to recall how. tongue sticking out smiley

That may sound really dumb, but what shoud I do?
What I remember is I ran mysql (the exe) from the command prompt and got lucky.

But the second time I tried to do the same thing a few days later, the command prompt throws error:
access denied for user 'ODBC'@'localhost' <using password: NO>

I manipulated the database on the mysql console a few times after that. But that was really frustrating.

Then I uninstalled wamp server and deleted all the folder contents.
There are some registry entries for ODBC and sql server on my machine. I tried deleting them but couldn't. (I had these entries since I bought my vista based system).

I reinstalled wampserver and still I get the same error when I try to access mysql from the command prompt.

Please help me. Where did I go wrong? What should I do?

Thanks in advance,
Renuka Prasad.

hehe, I got it now. phpmyadmin page from the wamp server tray icon does it.

I would suggest the future victims of murphy's laws tongue sticking out smiley(like me) to visit:
