Slow response

I am running WAMP 2, and am getting about a second delay before pages load, coming from localhost. The pages are simple, I didn't have this issue on XP, was pretty much instant load. I am now on Windows 7 RC. Is this an issue with it running as a service, or is there a way to speed it up to what it should be?
