Can't get it running for the first time

I've installed WAMP after DISABLING IIS on windows vista (it's installed but disabled from the IIS Manager), WAMP is enabled, all services are running and it's put online.

Whenever I attempt to access [localhost], firefox returns me:
Quote

Failed to Connect
Firefox can't establish a connection to the server at localhost.

What can I do to solve it?

try this, restart pc, try wamp again

Disable IIS in Vista:

Control Panel, Uninstall Programs, Turn Widows Features On or Off, uncheck Internet Information Services

Disable IIS in XP:

Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Add/Remove Windows Components, uncheck Internet Information Services (IIS)

Restart computer, then restart Wamp

Also, open file hosts in folder C:\WINDOWS\System32\drivers\etc and make sure you have only this line and nothing else

127.0.0.1 localhost

After the restart, wamp is stuck on the "yellow phase" and I can't run the other service or put it offline.

oh yeah, and there's still the same problem.

open httpd.conf file and replace listen 80 to listen 81, save file, restart wamp and try localhost:81; if work, you have to find out what runs or prevent wamp to run on port 80; if not work, then make sure you've already add exception for wamp in all firewalls/antivirus

still doesn't work sad smiley listen is 81, and it still gives me the same error.
all services are running this time thou.

clear browser cache and try localhost:81, not localhost only

I am "hidden" behind a NAT router, but it worked before under the same circumstances.
how do I set the exceptions for wamp?
