Hi,
If you copy your entire wamp folder, you're sure that it will work the same, with databases and projects, only if you copy it exactly at the same path !
You should prefer to backup your projects (www folder) and your databases (easier by exporting them from phpMyAdmin).
You can also copy your configuration files :
bin/apache/apache_version/conf/httpd.conf,
bin/mysql/mysql_version/my.ini
bin/apache/apache_version/bin/php.ini (if not see bin/php/php_version/phpForApache.ini)
apps/phpMyAdmin_version/config.inc.php (eventually)
Note that you are not forced to do that, but it can be useful to know your old parameters...
Afterwards, format and install a wamp version and copy projects.
Launch phpMyAdmin (after configuring the right access) and import your .sql files.
Don't forget to create the users for your projects (if you got it).
Good luck !
Florian
