I cant install wamp it keeps giving me this error.

I have just downloaded the Captivate 7 trial and wanted to the the WAMP server to report on test results; but I keeping getting the error "MSVCR100.dll is missing from your computer" and wanted to know how to fix this problem.

Version of Operating system? WIN 7 32bit
Version of Wamp Server installed? Most recent on website as at today
Version of Apache you are running?
Version of MySQL you are running?
Version of PHP you are running?

I don't work in IT, but in a service department and am working with IT to resolve this problem.

Went to the forum and following instruction, but the
Microsoft download for BOTH Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)
AND for
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update are packaged as vcredist_x86.exe

Has the file been updated to include BOTH requirements, or am I going to be missing a vital file to get WAMP to function properly?

As it says in the document

It is best to download each version and then install it before downloading the next as the naming convension used by microsoft for the installation .exe files is a bit confusing and people have got very confused as to wether they have actually installed all the versions that are required.

So

1. download and then install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86)

Then

2. download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package ATL Security Update

Then you get the original runtime installed and then you install the patches for that version second.

I found a thread on WAMP that guided me to 4 updates to resolve an MSVCR110.DLL error.


Meanwhile, I think I finally got it loaded, but nothing occurs when I hit the WAMP desktop icon (except a message asking if I want to allow the program to make changes to my computer).


What should my next steps be to validate the install and utilize the download?

The message is from your firewall and you should Allow the access.

Thanks for you patience. I was playing around last night and EUREKA! I think I've got it.


It's been a while since I worked on my PHP but I certainly managed to get something flowing through my browser.


Now the next step, setting up MySQL.


I generally view stored data through a "dashboard" that offers options and an Excel-styled view. Does this option exist in WAMP?


I have a suspicion that it will only be generated if I create code for it.


Is there a way to view the stored data without creating code for a table?

That is what phpMyAdmin is for.

You can also use any tool/utility that can see and use a MySQL database. There is nothing proprietary about WAMPServer, its just a tool to get Apache/MySQL and PHP installed at the click of a button rather than doing it all yourself.

I use MySQL Workbench, its free from the MySQL developers ( or rather Oracle now ) and much more Windows-like than phpmyadmin.

However you will probably see phpmyadmin on any hosted server you may use so it is worth getting familiar with it at least.

If this is not yet solve please do below:

Download MSVCR110.dll from [www.dll-files.com]

then paste into System32 after you download it retry to install wamp if not yet installed else refresh wamp

DO NOT download microsoft MSVC Runtime dll's from anywhere but a Microsoft site.

ALSO DO NOT try to install these dll's by copying to system32

Just follow this guide, this is a very easy issue to fix.
