Wamp server not installing

I am running a hi-end pc with win xp. When I try to install Wamp server regardless of which port I select for Apache, the half moon icon remains part red and of course I cannot connect to local host (127.0.0.1). Skype is not using port 80, my Comodo firewall is not blocking it nor is my AV Nod32. I am not running any other servers.
I have followed the video installation from the Silverstripe site.
Can anyone help please.

Unistalled Wamp, rebooted, shut down modem, firewall, AV, anit-spyware etc. Reinstalled Wamp and the moment I ran it I got a 'red segment' warning. So is that deceiving me? On reboot with all systems up, it does not matter what I turn off, Wamp is not connecting.
Help please.

Finally I think it is working albeit I am not sure if php is set up correctly - worry about that later.
The culprit appears to have been Comodo firewall which finally allowed me to 'accept the action as safe'.
Also I set localhost to 3000 not 80.

3000 would have fixed the issue., but this is not solving it. all three programs you mentions affect wamp.
