I know this is more about wordpress than just wamp, cant find an answer on wordpress.org blog though...

I have installed Wamp 2.0f successfully I believe. I have put wordpress in the ../WWW directory as I want it for local designing of Wordpress not online. I have also created a database named wordpress in myphpadmin. all seems to be going well.

When I get to [localhost]
the install page shows up.
It hangs once I have filled out the blog name and email

I have tried undoing iis but its not checked.

Other than that I've reinstalled and also tried Xampp but has the same problem.
now I'm back to Wamp as it has a cleaner interface.

Thanx for any info to get me 'soon to be blog masistro'

The PhpMyAdmin step to setup the Database does not work.

PhpMyAdmin page gives "Access Denied" message.

after uninstalling wamp and xampp, you have to run regedit to search adn delete anything related before reinstall wamp, then follow the guides

I'll try that too. I guess I am looking for wamp as a keyword in the Registry. Any other keywords that you might suggest?

PS: Which is the ONE 2.0 package that has no issues? I've tried everything from 2.0d > 2.0e > 2.0f > 2.0c

I just want to do simple Blog with Wordpress & maybe later Joomla. I do not want to spend too much time in the WAMP world.

seems you had problem because trying too many different wamp and xampp, so uninstall them all, run regedit to delete wampapache and wampmysql, and xampp if any, rename/remove wamp folder, restart computer then reinstall wamp
