WampServer

I am running Windows XP, Wamp 2.2, Apache 2.2.22, PHP 5.4.3, MySql 5.5.24, and the icon is GREEN. I have a simple php program to write an email using phpmailer. It works fine when I upload it to the internet. However, when I use WAMP for development it will not work and I get the error "could not instantiate mail function". Obviously, something is not set properly but I have searched and can not figure it out. Thank you in advance.

If you cannot find the problem from there, how are we supposed to find it from here, unless you give a lot more information.

Dear Clair. Good point. I was just thinking that someone else may have had the problem. When I searched, there was a solution by loading php_smtp but I could not find a version compatible with version 5.4 of php. Thank you anyway. PS Cute name!
