cannot start wamp

OS-- win7
Apache -- 2.2.22
Mysql 5.5.24 – PHP 5.3.13 XDebug 2.1.2 XDC 1.5 PhpMyadmin 3.4.10.1 SQLBuddy 1.3.3 webGrind 1.0
Nothing in hosts

I get the above error when trying to start the server for the first time, so the wamp icon colour is not applicable

I installed the 2010 visual C++ runtime libraries as recommended on the fora and from the microsoft website. However the issue has remained.

When running httpd.exe -e --debug I get the following output:

This version of C:\wamp\bin\apache\apache2.2.22\bin\httpd.exe is not compatible
with the version of Windows you're running. Check your computer's system informa
tion to see whether you need a x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of the progr
am, and then contact the software publisher.

I downloaded the 32 bit version and system info clearly states that I'm running the 32 bit version of win 7. So what gives? And are the errors related?

I really need this to work due to the win 7 migration. Please help!

Please make sure you have the latest version of all of these Microsoft C/C++ Redistributable runtime libraries.

The 2008 Redist is used by wampmanager
The 2010 Redist is used by some versions of Apache ( depending on compiler used )
The 2012 Redist is used by some versions of Apache ( depending on compiler used )

FOR WAMP 32bit
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) [www.microsoft.com]
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) [www.microsoft.com]

If you are using WampServer 2.4
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 [www.microsoft.com]
And select vcredist_x86.exe

FOR WAMP 64bit
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1 Redistributable Package (x86) [www.microsoft.com]
Yes you need the x86 Package regardless
Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) [www.microsoft.com]
Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) [www.microsoft.com]
If you are using WampServer 2.4
Microsoft Visual C++ 2012 [www.microsoft.com]
And select vcredist_x64.exe

I have done this, however the issue still remains.

I start WAMP and after agreeing to let it make changes to my computer I get the dialogue box pop up with:

"Exception Exception in module wampmanager.exe at 000F15A0.
Could not execute run action:
' "

No idea why this isn't going anywhere. I now have the redists for 2008, 2010 and 2012 installed for visual C++.

Is there anything I can do to provide more debug information. I really need to get this working.

Thanks

This is the thing as in my first post. WAMP never starts so the icon never shows up. I get the dialogue box error as listed and that's the end of things.

At the risk of breaking stuff down the line, I've installed WAMP 2.4 and it starts. Currently offline, but I'm sure I'll be able to deal with that issue. So the upgrade has removed the issue.
