will uninstalling and reinstalling wamp cause any loss or damage to my current websites or the databases?

Yes so dont do it if you have anything already written.
In that case stick with what you have, just make th epph.ini chnage in the right place this time.

but i've only been making changes to the php.ini via the tray icon so i dont understand why its still not working.
